WHAT ARE THE POCKET DYNAMIC DNS CLIENTS?

The Pocket Dynamic DNS clients are clients for some of the more popular dynamic DNS services. Dynamic DNS is a free service provided by many different sites providing you the ability to use the same hostname regardless of the network address you have. For example, you can register mypocketpc.dyndns.org and update the IP address of mypocketpc.dyndns.org to your PDA as you move from network to network. We have a different clients for different services. The client is responsible for sending updates to the dynamic DNS server whenever the IP address of your device changes.

  • Continuous background monitoring, with a forced update option
  • Ability to grab your IP address either from the handheld itself or by getting your outside IP address from checkip.dyndns.org
  • Only updates IP address if it has changed
  • Full request/response logging
  • Customizable refresh period
